High Commissioner of Canada to Cameroon pledges commitment to accompany the Commission to success.x

Nathalie O’NEIL made her stance during an audience she was granted by the President of the Commission in the conference room of his cabinet.

The High Commissioner of Canada to Cameroon, Nathalie O’NEIL, was on Friday October 27th 2017, received in audience by the President of the Commission, Peter MAFANY MUSONGE, who was assisted during this exercise by the Vice President, OUMAROU DJIKA and the Secretary General, Dr. CHI ASAFOR Cornelius.

The High Commissioner who was just 05 weeks old in Cameroon, came to reassure the Commission of her resolve to carry on with the collaboration her predecessor had started and also to get firsthand information on the mandate of the Commission. It should be noted here that, the former High Commissioner of Canada to Cameroon previously had a series of working sessions with the Commission during which the legal system to protect languages in Canada was presented and discussions held in relation to forthcoming benchmarking missions. Her Excellency Nathalie O’NEIL, reaffirmed her commitment to ensure that such missions to her country are effected

While stressing the fact that Cameroon and Canada share the same official languages and are members of the same international organizations (the Commonwealth and la Francophonie), she pledged the availability of the Canadian government to accompany the Commission to success.
