Management Promises Award to Hardworking Staff
After the March Past at the 20th May Boulevard, the staff of the Commission gathered at the institution’s Head Office for a common meal.
On the occasion, the Secretary General Dr Chi Asafor Cornelius said a day like this provides a timely opportunity to speak frankly to the staff, and the truth is that: “the Commission has, and will continue to have limited resources with which to meet staff expectations”. That not withstanding, the SG said hardworking staff will be receive awards in the nearest future with accompanying financial benefits.
Dr. Chi Asafor Cornelius deplored staff who were ” increasingly displaying a mark lack of commitment, evidenced by lateness at work, poor attendance and laxity in the processing of files- all of which are shortcomings that undermine the Institution’s performance.” He warned that such misconduct will meet with sanctions.
Prior to the SG’s speech, the staff representative, Mr Moh Christian, thanked management for providing good working conditions and for always giving a listening ear to them. This year’s International Labour Day was celebrated under the theme: “Social Dialogue, Decent Work: Factors of Peace, National Cohesion and Economic Development of the Company”.
