The President of the NCPBM, Peter MAFANY MUSONGE, and the Parliamentary Secretary to the Canadian Minister of foreign Affairs have exchanged ideas and experiences on how best to ensure the respect of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism in their Countries.
The President of the NCPBM, Peter MAFANY MUSONGE, on the 10th of April 2018, at the head Office of the NCPBM in Yaoundé received in audience the Parliamentary Secretary to the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, MATT DECOURCEY.
For over one hour, the two Personalities and their collaborators discussed a wide range of issues related to the promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism.
Talking to the Press after the audience, H.E. MATT DECOURCEY underscored the need for the respect of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism, saying his Country works hard every day to ensure that this diversity remains the strength of the Country.
He promised Canada’s support to, and partnership with Cameroon, so that the Country can improve on its Bilingual and Multicutural way of Living Together.
The Canadian Government has been showing abiding interest in the NCPBM since its creation. Its current high Commissioner to Cameroon, Mrs.Nathalie O’NEIL, and her predecessor, Mr. CREMONESE had had previous meetings with the NCPBM which were crowned by Mr. DECOURCEY’s visit.
The NCPBM expects support from Canada especially in the area of capacity building in Canadian Institutions in charge of Multilingualism, Multiculturalism and Living Together issues.
Accompanying the President of the NCPBM, Peter MAFANY MUSONGE during the audience were the vice-President, OUMAROU DJIKA SAIDOU and the Secretary General, Dr. CHI ASAFOR Cornelius.
H.E. MATT DECOURCEY’s Delegation was made up of the adviser to the Minister, Madam LANGUEUX, the Director, Bilateral Relations, West and Central Africa, Mr. PARENTEAU and the Canadian High Commissioner to Cameroon, H.E. Nathalie O’NEIL.
