Commission President Peter Mafany Musonge receives in audience commonwealth Secretary General PATRICIA SCOTLAND

Commonwealth Secretary General assures the NCPBM of her institution’s support in the accomplishment of its missions, and talks of the necessity of frank and sincere dialogue to solve the Anglophone crisis.

The flags of the Commonwealth and Cameroon flew high at the courtyard of the headquarters of the NCPBM, ministerial building N° 1 in Yaoundé late 2017, as the Limousine of the Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia SCOTLAND drove in. On hand to receive her was the President of the Commission, Peter MAFANY MUSONGE, accompanied by the Vice President OUMAROU DJIKA SAÏDOU and the Secretary General of the Commission, CHI ASAFOR Cornelius.

A squadron of the Presidential guard was also present to render honours to the Commonwealth Secretary General, who was in Cameroon on the invitation of the Head of State, Paul BIYA.

During the audience Mr Peter MAFANY MUSONGE presented the activities already carried out by the Commission in a bid to promote Bilingualism, Multiculturalism and living together.

Talking to the press after the audience, Mrs Patricia SCOTLAND spoke of the need for Cameroon to remain united and peaceful, adding that frank and sincere dialogue will pave the way to maintain these cherished values. She also promised her organisation’s support to the NCPBM so as to help it succeed in its missions of promoting Bilingualism, Multiculturalism and living together.

Mrs Patricia SCOTLAND was accompanied by the Deputy Director of the Cabinet of the Secretariat General of the Commonwealth, SENYO AGBOHLAH, Political affairs head LINDIWE MALELEKA, and the head of the Communication Department, Ben MOLEY.
