There is an urgent need for solution to the humanitarian crisis in the regions affected by socio-political crisis in Cameroon
The NCPBM was honoured on the 3rd of May, 2019 to receive Mrs. Michelle BACHELET, a long-time Human rights champion and ground-breaking Leader, having ended her second Four-year term as President of Chile in March, 2018.
In Cameroon, on an official visit, during which she was received by the Head of State, she took time off to visit the Commission, where she was received in audience by the President, Peter MAFANY MUSONGE in the presence of his close collaborators. Talking to reporters after the audience, she thanked the officials of the Commission for giving her the opportunity to see what they have been doing to look for peaceful solutions to the crisis in the North-West and South-West Regions of Cameroon.
She became United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on the 10th of August 2018, taking over from Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein of Jordan.
