The President of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism (NCPBM), H.E. Peter Mafany Musonge, has dispatched members of the Commission to carry out field missions in educational establishments based in five regions of the country.
The field missions which run from 16th to 22nd November, 2025, are taking place simultaneously in Bamenda (North West), Bafoussam (West), Ebolowa (South), Bertoua (East), and Garoua (North).
The aim of the exercise is to evaluate the implementation of the national policy on official languages in Cameroon, and sensitize the education community on harmonious living together. They will also raise awareness on the dangers of hate speech, which is on the rise these days.
It is the second time that the Commission is undertaking a similar exercise this year in nursery, primary and secondary schools, after the last one in April, 2025, which took place in Yaounde, Douala, and Buea, registering a huge success.
The NCPBM considers nursery, primary and secondary schools as the best foundational levels at which bilingual Cameroonians can effectively be moulded. The present field work falls within the framework of the 2025 Action Plan of the Commission, validated by the Head of State./
